Salaam Alaikum!
Youth in Focus presents our third online youth question challenge!
Have you tried calling our game show but our lines were busy? Well, this is your chance to get your name into our famous drawing bowl and increase your chances of winning. You have from now until 8pm (PST) Tuesday 7/29/08 to answer the following questions and email them to youth@salaamtv.org Please also include your first and last name, state you live in, and age. On Wednesday night‘s (7/30/08) game show, we will announce the names of those who answered all the questions correctly. Those individuals will have a head start in the game show with their name already in the bowl, which will increase their chance of winning. Remember take your time do your research and answer the following questions completely inshaAllah:
1. In the Qur’an, Allah (swt) has mentioned a few women that are very highly regarded, who are they?
2. Imam Ali (as) had a possession that was named “Zulfaghar”, what was it?
3. Allah (swt) mentions in the Qur’an that He will raise the status of some, while lowering the status of others that He chooses. What are the characteristics of those whose status will be raised by Allah (swt)?
4. One of Imam Ali’s (as) nicknames was “Haidar”, what does it mean and why was he given this nickname?
5. Allah (swt) has guaranteed that the Qur’an will serve as a guide to a certain group of people, who are they?
6. Why did Imam Ali (as) sleep in the Prophet’s (pbuh) bed one night?

1.In the Qur’an, Allah (swt) has mentioned a few women that are very highly regarded, who are they? Hazrat Fatemeh (pbuh), Hazrat Maryam (pbuh), Asiyeh (the wife of Pharoah), Hazrat Musa’s Mother
2. Imam Ali (as) had a possession that was named “Zulfaghar”, what was it? A Double-edged Sword
3. Allah (swt) mentions in the Qur’an that He will raise the status of some, while lowering the status of others that He chooses. What are the characteristics of those whose status will be raised by Allah (swt)? Those who believe in Allah (swt) and the unseen world and who do good deeds.
4. One of Imam Ali’s (as) nicknames was “Haidar”, what does it mean and why was he given this nickname? It literally means “lion”. He is said to have been nicknamed Haidar al-Karrar (حيدرالكرار) "Invincible Lion" by the Muslim warriors who followed him.
5. Allah (swt) has guaranteed that the Qur’an will serve as a guide to a certain group of people, who are they? The Muttaqeen (pious)
6. Why did Imam Ali (as) sleep in the Prophet’s (pbuh) bed one night? When the enemies wanted to murder the Prophet (pbuh), Imam Ali accepted the risk of sleeping in his bed so that the Prophet would be safe.
