In the Name of Allah
While I was listening to your show, there was the point raised by a couple concerned viewers about the difficulty of your questions. Now I truly understand their concern, but would like my voice to be also heard.
In my opinion, it is not fair to say that all of the Muslim Youth brought up in the United States are, for lack of a better phrase, having a defiency in knowledge and therefore need more simplisitc questions. Rather it seems to me that there is no real uniform level of knowledge, I have met some youth who, at a young age have knowledge like they are old wise scholars, and others who lack even the simplest knowledge of Islam. I think this randomness of the degree of knowledge is not something unique to the youth of the United States, but rather to all Muslim Youth throughout the world. Today, in the 21st century, the internet has made it in such a way that it is no longer geographic location that determines access to knowledge. I personally, as a 16 year old who has been brought up in the United States found most of the questions quite easy, as did my 11 year old sister. However, some of my friends have told me they find it harder.
While it is not fair to the less knowledged brothers and sisters for the questions to be too hard and they have a huge disadvantage compared to other muslims, it is also not fair for the more knowledgable ones for it to be too basic as they will not be learning anything.
I think the most fair solution is that which the show is following currently, at least roughly. Some questions are hard, others easy. It depends on the luck of the viewer on which one they get. In this way everyone learns something, ande everyone has a more fair chance of winning.
I appreciate your reading through my long critique and would greatly appreciate brother Mehdi and Hamid's opinion on this subject, as well as anybody elses.
Thank You
